Ms. Catherine Temple, an associate in our Municipal and Insurance Defence departments, was recently featured in the April, 2014 issue of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association Magazine “Without Prejudice”. Ms. Temple wrote an informative and fulsome article entitled “Slips, Trips and Falls – A Toolkit for Investigating Municipal Mishaps”. The article provided a framework for cases tried under the Occupiers Liability Act and the Municipal Act, and provide some insight and reflections on recent developments in the case law. The framework provided is a “must read” for adjusters and defence counsel alike.
Should you have any questions about Ms. Temple’s article, or municipal liability in general, she, or one of the members of our Municipal Law practice area at Templeman can assist. We act on behalf of municipalities, landowners, developers, financial institutions and public interest groups. We are highly regarded for our depth of knowledge of the complexities of this politically sensitive area of law.
