Christopher Edwards is a partner in the firm’s
Litigation and Labour and Employment groups. A graduate of Queen’s Law
School, he joined Templeman Menninga LLP after practicing at one of Canada’s
largest law firms. 

Christopher has extensive experience providing
strategic advice and representation to employers in all areas of labour
relations, employment law and human rights, including the legal implications of
corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, executive employment
arrangements, union organizing campaigns and workplace compliance issues such
as those arising under the 
 and occupational health and safety legislation. He is
regularly retained by large international corporations to strategically advise
on laws relating to Canadian divisions or offices.  He represents
employers in collective bargaining negotiations, has considerable sector
experience in Fire and Rescue and Police services and is regularly retained by
employers to act as the Chair of bargaining teams.

Christopher also acts for senior employees in
employment and professional disciplinary matters.  He has also been
retained as an investigator in complicated matters for Hospitals, churches and
other institutions. 

Christopher is a seasoned litigator, regularly
appearing at all levels of courts including the Ontario Superior Court, the
Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal and in Provincial Courts
in matters pertaining to occupational health and safety.  He has been
counsel in several leading decisions, including those involving privacy rights,
and the implications of the changes to the 
 as they relate to workplace violence and harassment. 
He is also regularly retained by large insurance companies to represent the
interests of their insureds in motor vehicle and other types of
litigation.  He has successfully conducted many trials over his years of
practice.  His reputation in this regard has also led to retainers in
large and complex commercial litigation matters by Canadian and international
companies. 

Christopher is a Past President of the Frontenac
Law Association and has sat as a member of the governing Council to the Ontario
Bar Association. From November 2014 to June 2017 Christopher was the East
Region Representative on the executive of the Federation of Ontario Law
Associations. 



When he is not engaged in proceedings, Christopher enjoys a musical
career as a singer-songwriter and guitarist. Growing up in a musical family,
the chronicles of his parent’s musical success were featured in a documentary
titled “Stay Awhile”, which was aired on Netflix in 2016 and 2017.
