Mary-Jo Maur has practiced Family Law in Kingston for over 25 years. On June 22, 2015 Mary-Jo joined Templeman Menninga LLP as Counsel, merging her family practice with that of Templeman Menninga LLP.
Mary-Jo graduated from the University of Toronto in 1978 with an Honours B.A., and then completed her LL.B. at Queen’s University. She was awarded the McLaughlin graduate fellowship, and completed her LL.M. at Queen’s in 1993.
Mary-Jo holds a full-time teaching appointment at Queen’s Faculty of Law, where she teaches Family Law, Civil Procedure, Torts, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and is the Director of the Introduction to Legal Studies Program. She has twice been given the Law Students’ Society Teaching Excellence Award.
Mary-Jo is the author of numerous papers and books on family law topics, and is a frequent presenter at Continuing Education seminars for judges and lawyers. She is the co-chair of the Law Society of Upper Canada’s annual Family Law Summit.
Mary-Jo’s practice at Templeman Menninga includes all aspects of Family Law (divorce, custody, access, child support, spousal support, and property matters), as well as the representation of children through the Ontario government Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Mary-Jo also maintains a mediation and arbitration practice for Family Law matters, and is a qualified Parenting Coordinator.
