Melissa Seal joined Templeman as an articling student in 2007 and became an Associate Lawyer on her call to the bar in 2008 and a Partner in January 2014. Melissa’s practice is focused primarily on labour, employment, and human rights law, and she also acts in civil, commercial, and construction litigation matters. She regularly provides practical advice to clients to assist them in preventing and resolving disputes without recourse to litigation, but when litigation is necessary, Melissa is ready. She has experience appearing before a variety of administrative and civil bodies, including in Superior Court, Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Relations Board, labour arbitrations, mediations, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Appeals Tribunal.
Melissa won the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament in 1999 before going on to undergraduate studies at Syracuse University, graduating magna cum laude. She continued her studies at Queen’s University, receiving her law degree in 2007.
Melissa is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Frontenac Law Association.
