Terrence Whyte is a former partner in the firm and remains as counsel to the firm. Terry restricts his practice to the representation of management in labour and employment matters. In this capacity he represents employers’ interests in negotiation, arbitration and before various boards and tribunals, including the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Pay Equity Tribunal, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Human Rights Commission and Tribunal.
Prior to entering the private practice of law, for 25 years, Terry had total responsibility for human resources management for employers in both the private and public sectors. This experience has allowed him to effectively advise in all areas of labour and employment law. Terry is also the Managing and founding Partner of Templeman Consulting Group Inc., which was created to provide consulting services outside the traditional area of legal advice, including organizational development, review and restructuring, strategic planning, middle and senior management recruiting and evaluation, pay and employment equity, compensation, and competency based performance management.
Terry received his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario, his law degree from Queen’s University and his Master of Laws, specializing in labour and employment law, from Osgoode Hall Law School. Terry has been certified by the Canadian International Institute in Applied Negotiations in alternate dispute resolution and also holds his designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Terry is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Human Resource Professionals Association of Ontario and the Hastings, Frontenac, Carleton and York County Bar Associations.
