Natasha Beitman Brener is an accomplished litigator at Templeman LLP, where she practices criminal defense and family law. With a distinctive combination of expertise in both family and criminal law, Natasha brings a unique ability to navigate the complex intersections of these fields, offering comprehensive and insightful representation to her clients. Her extensive experience in family law equips her with a profound understanding of the emotional and psychological nuances involved in custody disputes, divorce proceedings, and domestic violence cases. Simultaneously, her criminal law background allows her to adeptly handle cases where familial issues may lead to criminal charges, such as accusations of child abuse or domestic assault. This rare blend of practice areas strengthens her advocacy and allows her to approach each case with a clear understanding of how personal circumstances affect legal outcomes.
Natasha was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. She attended York University, where she completed her B.A. magna cum laude, then attended Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where she completed her J.D. She proceeded to article in Ottawa at Bayne Sellar Ertel Carter, and later returned to Kingston, where she worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney. In the course of her career, she has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court, the Court of Appeal, and various tribunals and boards.
Natasha is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the Frontenac Law Association, the Kingston Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, and the Criminal Lawyer’s Association. Additionally, Natasha is empaneled by Legal Aid Ontario in criminal, administrative, and family law, as well as on their Gladue Panel for Indigenous Persons. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of the John Howard Society of Kingston and is counsel at Queen’s University for Pro Bono Students Canada.
Natasha is bilingual, providing services to clients in both Spanish and English. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Charlie, and travelling.
